Bruce Freshwater, CEO/CTO, founded Sierra and, while still running the organization as its Chief Executive, also guides its technical services and the evolution of its internal infrastructure.
Bruce has been responsible for management of client network infrastructure for organizations ranging in size from SOHOs to large Enterprises. Bruce also oversees all of Sierra’s daily operations, both in-house and at its Downtown Pittsburgh Dara Center. Since Sierra’s inception, the organization has seen substantial annual growth. Sierra has expanded its Data Center hosting services through its sister organization, Sierra Data Centers, where Mr. Freshwater serves as the Chief Technology Officer.
Prior to his current role, Mr. Freshwater was the CEO and Founder of Innovations in Technology (InnovationsTech), functioning in similar roles to those that he holds at Sierra. Mr. Freshwater was responsible for InnovationsTech’s business model, expanding the organization’s coverage across 20 states and continually increasing the organizations revenue and profitability. Mr. Freshwater divested of the Innovations Tech in 2006.
Mr. Freshwater has served in Information Technology and electrical/digital engineering roles since 1992, where he started his career in engineering as a Precision Measurement Equipment Laboratory Journeyman in the United States Air Force. While on active duty, Mr. Freshwater specialized in laboratory electrical measurement, calibration supporting Type A/Depot engineering, and metrology.
Mr. Freshwater continued to expand his knowledge and skillset following his tour with the Air Force by moving to Woodgroup Gas Turbines in Anchorage, Alaska to work with Alyeska Pipeline as a Calibration, Digital Control, and Computer Engineering specialist. Mr. Freshwater returned to Pittsburgh to be closer to his family and joined the Air Force Reserves as a Computer Systems Operations Journeyman. Mr. Freshwater was also an instructor, teaching of Microsoft Certified System Engineer courses and CompTIA A+ and Network+ courses at multiple area universities.
Mr. Freshwater received extensive training from the Community College of the Air Force and from the University of Anchorage Alaska. He has also received extensive technical instruction from organizations such as Microsoft and Cisco.
Bruce and his beautiful wife Stacy reside in North Fayette. The couple began dating and married shortly thereafter. Sierra, Mr. Freshwater’s oldest child, is the foundation for the company name. Together, the Freshwater’s have 4 beautiful children. The family is very active in the community and proud to call Pittsburgh home.
Stacy Freshwater has served as the CFO/HR Director at Sierra w/o Wires, Inc. since 2007. In her current role, she administrates all necessary items regarding new hires, payroll, expenses, health insurance, and paid time off for employees. She also monitors every aspect of the finances and accounting, including accounts payable, accounts receivable and relationships with Sierra distributors.
Prior to her role at Sierra, she held many roles at MARC USA from 1999-2007. During her tenure at MARC USA, as a Desktop and Collaboration Systems Manager, she managed all PC systems, including standardizations for all desktop users, administration of all collaboration systems, coordination of Emergency Response for Desktop Systems and Extensive Terminal Services utilization. Furthermore, in this role she provided Tier II/III Help Desk support for all corporate applications. In her role as a Help Desk Supervisor/Administrator, she planned the migration to Active Directory from Windows NT, produced and implemented trainings for Microsoft Office and the New Hire Orientation Program at MARC USA.
Stacy Freshwater received her B.S.B.A from Robert Morris College, Moon Township, Pennsylvania in 1999. Stacy has been a CFO of the Year finalist in 2015, 2014, and 2012.
NOC Manager / COO
Josh Knox is the Manager of our Support team and a member of our Service Delivery department here at Sierra Experts. He has been a valued member of our Sierra family for over 6 years. Josh oversees all of Support projects, interactions with customer relations, and works closely with all of our Engineers.
Before joining Sierra, Josh attended Pittsburgh Technical College for Network Administration. After graduation, he moved on to become an IT Coordinator for a behavioral health practice that had over 20 sites across the United States. Josh was responsible for handling all of the day-to-day IT needs along with any issues that were reported on hardware/software throughout their network.
When he is not working, Josh enjoys spending time with his family and friends; relaxing with his two dogs, Molly and Jasper; discovering new restaurants; and flipping houses with his stepfather.
