February Employee Spotlight: Bradley Ferris

A sales team is the eyes, ears, and voice of any company. You can have an amazing product or service, but without a team to successfully pitch it, it will likely fail. Here at Sierra, our sales team is an integral part of our company. IT-related products and services can be confusing, and that’s why we have account executives like Bradley Ferris to simplify everything. Brad goes above and beyond by not just providing cookie cutter solutions, but identifying a company’s indivibrad ferris headshotdual needs and creating a plan to fit their business. For these reasons, and many others, we’ve chosen Brad as this month’s employee spotlight.

Brad’s fascination with computers and technology began at a young age, and after high school he took that interest to California University of Pennsylvania where he obtained a degree in Computer Science. Then, Brad went on to UPMC where he interned and got an up-close look at how a hospital’s backend functions.

Who better to sell IT services than someone who knows the industry inside and out? Brad began technology sales at a previous position as a Consultant for Miracle Ear. There’s one funny story he often recollects about his time at Miracle Ear,

“They say a job in sales is hands-on, and it requires you to go the extra mile. One time I went to in-home sales appointment. Long story short, I ended up cooking pierogis with the client in their kitchen to close the deal which is definitely not a typical closing strategy, but it was a memorable experience.”

On an average day at Sierra Experts, Brad is continuously building a sales pipeline through networking, cold-calling, and campaigning through various avenues. When asked about his favorite part of his work, Brad stated, “I like that the position is challenging. Every customer and issue is different, but the one constant is that you have to be the solution. I love going that extra mile and providing the best service I can to meet, or exceed, a client’s expectations.” Brad enjoys being a part of the Sierra team because of the laidback, fun atmosphere that allows everyone to be themselves.

In his spare time, you can find Brad participating in anything sports or fitness related. From closely following the Pittsburgh Penguins, to playing on a deck hockey team in the summers, it’s no secret that he loves the sport. Aside from hockey, Brad also enjoy golf and going to the gym. Within five years, Brad wants to establish himself further at Sierra Experts and plans to marry his girlfriend of three years, Shannon. He’d also love the chance to see all of Europe in the future.
