Microsoft Extends Windows 10 Support Again

Windows extends support

Microsoft has extended its support of Windows 10, version 1803 for 6 more months. To help ease the pressure on IT staff impacted by COVID-19, Microsoft has pushed back the end of service date until May 11, 2021. This means security updates will continue to be released monthly until then.

End of services for the Enterprise, Education and IoT Enterprise editions was scheduled for November of 2020. Chris Morrissey, communications and planning lead for Windows servicing and delivery cited a “focus on business continuity in the midst of the global pandemic” as the reason for the delay.

Microsoft has not yet extended support for Windows 10, version 1903. It is currently scheduled to end on December 8th, 2020.  If you are looking for a full list of end of service dates for all versions and editions, you can visit Microsoft’s Windows lifecycle fact sheet and Lifecycle Policy search tool.
