SIM Receives Microsoft Silver Validation

Sierra’s workflow and incident management application – Sierra Incident Manager (SIM) – received Silver-level validation from Microsoft yesterday.

Though a third party, Microsoft independently verified that the SIM application operates properly on the Windows Server 2008 R2 platform.

With the noted recognition from Microsoft, Sierra also achieved the status of a Microsoft Silver Independent Software Vendor (ISV).

These new recognitions from Microsoft join an already significant list achieved by Sierra. Sierra holds the following Microsoft Partner competencies: Gold OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer), Silver Desktop, Silver Hosting, Silver Midmarket Solution Provider and Silver EOM.

SIM is a software-based solution offered by Sierra and allows organizations to manage workflow, assets, contacts and other information needed to operate a services-based enterprise.

From the company’s beginnings, Sierra’s software engineers custom developed the SIM application to automate Sierra’s business operations. Sierra then began selling the SIM application to its customers in 2008.

Sierra and its customers utilize the application to manage IT problems, technology assets and contact information. The application also generates real-time reporting for use in invoicing. A Microsoft Great Plains integration component is planed for the near future.

One Sierra customer, a servicer of municipal water and water waste systems equipment, uses SIM to track its maintenance jobs and the field assets it services.
